Vehicle description
Please Read this entire article before bidding. Thanks.
This 96 Honda Civic was bought by my father back in the late 90s from his boss. We are the second owners. The vehicle is in very good condition. My dad used it to go to the bus station every day and so it only got driven a few miles and then sat in the sun all day. The timing belt and water-pump were done at 67k. A year and a half ago I drove this car back from Florida to use as a commuter. When i got it I personally replaced a lot of things. Here is the list:
Brakes:
New Master Cylinder, Rotors, Pads, Calipers, Drums, Shoes, Wheel cylinders and hardware. Some things are powdercoated.
Suspension:
All original with the exception of polyurethane bushings everywhere I could possibly put them, a brand new rack and pinion and aluminum rear control arms.
Engine:
Tune-up, distributor, valve cover gasket, Radiator, Hoses, K&N Air-filter, Transmission cooler and external Magnefine filter, new axles, also transmission flushed. Brand New original style exhaust system with a new catalytic converter and o2 sensors.
Interior:
Everything is original except for the stereo, which is a Kenwood with bluetooth. All new kenwood speakers. New Window Tint. Also the car has Viper Remote start and key-less entry with Viper Smartstart.
Exterior:
It has Drag aluminum wheels 15" with newer General Altimax Artic winter tires. I drive on them all season, I am also including the original 14" steel wheels and hubcaps with newer tires as well. The paint is ok. There was one spot that the clear lifted on the right front fender and so I sanded through and cleared it. So there is a bare metal spot that matches the "stitches" in the bumper. It looks cool.
What the car still needs:
Seat-covers are on to protect original seats. There is one cigarette burn in the drivers seat. It is small and has been there for a long time. The car was not owned by a smoker so I have no idea how it got there. The passenger door panel is cracking in some spots. Unfortunately, because it was parked in a lot all day in the sun, a lot of the interior is sun bleached. Also, the headliner is rough. I"ve been meaning to get to it but I never did. It needs a headliner. Other than that, it leaks a bit of oil from the crank seal. Not the rear main, but the one by the crank pulley. Its not severe, but it does mark its territory. In 3000 miles the oil never goes below normal level.
I wanted this car to be a "go anywhere" car. Never break down, never worry, and it has been exactly that. It drives as good if not better than it did the day it rolled off the factory floor. I"d rather keep this vehicle than give it away. It is a GREAT, RELIABLE, Car. You will not find a nicer ORIGINAL civic with this mileage and all of these new parts.
Obviously the vehicle is sold as-is with no warranty. To the best of my knowledge everything the vehicle needs or will need has been described above. There are NO major issues or drive-ability concerns.
