Vehicle description
I"ve reluctantly decided to sell my Travellall. She"s a 1972 with a 392, 4 barrel carb, 4wd, PS, PB, and A/C. I bought her from a friend of mine who owns an IH Repair / Restore business and used it as the "haul all" to carry parts around. Needless to say, it"s been meticulously maintained and is in amazing mechanical shape. I honestly would not hesitate to drive her anywhere.
The pictures show the spots where there"s some rust, but overall it"s a solid truck. It spent most of it"s life in Colorado then moved to TN a few years ago. I"m 99% positive that"s the factory paint job.
I"ve pulled our cattle trailer behind her a few times and you honestly don"t know it"s back there. Truck has 3.54 ratio Dana 44 front and rear axles, so the 392 and that combo absolutely is a joy to drive. Runs like a race car, pulls like a diesel truck. The truck would have originally had drum brakes on the front, but the front axle out of a "74 was swapped in so the truck now has front disc brakes.
The belt is off of the A/C Compressor. I was told that a bearing was squealing at times so they took the belt off. I"ve never tried to put it back on as I drive it with all the windows down. That"s all I know of that doesn"t work on the truck other than the AM radio haha but it does light up! All lights, wipers, horn, 4wd, etc. work as they should. There is no front gas tank behind the passenger fender, only the rear tank.
I"ve had people tell me they"ve seen her posted on Facebook by friends who have snapped a photo. I"ve seen people taking selfies with it, and it gets thumbs up constantly. I wanted it to look like it was going cross country so I will include the vintage luggage with the truck. My favorite is an old man who asked me at a gas pump (in town) where I was headed with all that luggage.
Take a look at the pictures, let me know if you have any questions whatsoever. I"m happy to answer any questions you may have.
YouTube video is out there, but won"t let me post a link. Search for "1972 IH Travelall for sale" and you"ll see a video by Derrick Lathem, that"s me.
Terms: $500 non-refundable deposit due immediately at auction end; balance due within 3 days. I have a friend I"ve used before that"s a shipper and I"m happy to assist with shipping if you"d like his number.
