Vehicle description
For sale is a fantastic Mark I 1964 Triumph Spitfire4. It sports a 4-speed manual transmission and its original 1147cc pushrod motor. The car runs beautifully in every way and shows 62,760 miles. The painted wire wheels with chrome knockoffs gives the car the classic British roadster look, and comes with a matching spare. The tires are barely used with minimal tread wear. The four cylinder motor idles smoothly and engine temperatures stay exactly where they belong with a very capable cooling system. The car zips through the gears and the clutch feels great, lending to the famous nimble feeling that these cars are so well known for. The paint is driver quality and looks good from a distance, but flaws and imperfections are apparent up close. All lights, switches, blower, heat, etc work as they should. The door cars are flat with no warping or crumpling present, which is a very common issue with these cars, and the seats are in excellent condition with no tears or cracking. The car is equipped with the original "banjo" style steering wheel which is in great shape and new Union Jack floor mats. Window operation is smooth and all glass is without cracks. The chrome bumpers appear to be original and do show some scratches and cosmetic imperfections, but are in otherwise very good condition and do not present any significant damage. The rare and costly hardtop does come with this car and is in excellent shape, finished in a matching blue paint.
This is a great driver and a lot of fun on the road. British lightweights became world famous for their responsiveness and driving feel, and this little Spitfire is a wonderful example of that mentality.
