IFor Sale is my 2000 ML55 AMG. It’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. These are becoming somewhat rare these days. It’s pretty quick. . even by today’s standards. At one time the ML55 was the fastest production SUV in the world. The world famous M113 5.4L V8 pumps out 342 horsepower and 376 lb. ft torque bone stock. The engine and transmission in this ML55 are known to be bullet-proof and last a long time. This SUV is a true sleeper and is faster than many new SUVs and trucks out there today. It has All Wheel Drive from the Factory with low-range, perfect for the mountains, snow, mud, etc. A very capable and powerful SUV. It has 166k original miles, Clean Title, never wrecked, and is a great, reliable, comfortable daily driver. Has never let me down, never overheats, etc. I’ve taken it on trips down to San Diego and to L.A. and back, it runs like a champ. The engine is stock, un-touched. The entire vehicle is stock except for the black powder coated oem AMG wheels which I think look badass, the window tint, blacked out front grill, and the aftermarket touch screen CD player/stereo. It has power windows, power locks, power seats, keyless entry, Cold AC, and very nice clean black leather interior (no rips or tears). The silver paint is original and still in good glossy condition except for some minor fading on the pass side front fender. This car has been taken care of with recent maintenance repairs done but also needs a little TLC and minor fixes. The drivetrain is stock and original. Still has the original / /AMG exhaust tips out back as well.
• Recent maintenance/repairs include: -Steering Rack Rebuilt
-New Conductor Plate (transmission) -New Brake Rotors & Pads all around -New Tires all around (Kumho 275/55/18) • Minor stuff needed: -Small/Slow power steering leak (I top it off about once a week, and i only use quality Lucas power steering fluid)
-The following dash lights are lit (BAS ESP, ETS, ABS, & SRS), but it doesn"t affect the reliability/driveability at all. Car still drives and stops great regardless. This ML55 drives great, so these are small things that can be looked at/fixed later on if you wish.
No Check Engine lights are on, etc.
-Drivers side headlight bulb needs to be replaced (I have two new 6000k HID bulbs ready to install that come with the car. This ML55 came with factory HID headlamps, just without projectors, easy fix, just never got around to it since I don’t drive this car at night) -Drivers side mirror needs new outer molding, not a huge deal. Mirror still works and is fully intact.
-One of the center console switches/buttons is missing. But it still functions without the button. Easy fix
It’s a reliable ML55 that just needs minor TLC and can be driven anywhere with confidence. Keep in mind this is a 19 year old car and isn’t perfect, but is a fun, solid true AMG that is becoming rare and just needs some love to be perfect. I’m an AMG enthusiast and have owned several AMGs. I have taken good care of this car like I do all of my Benz and AMG vehicles and have written this description as detailed as possible.
