“This is a 1990 Volvo 240 sedan which was a very good running vehicle, then it was parked for a number of years. It is being sold as a parts car - but is easily repairable for the road, assuming you have the mechanical ability. It is not rusted, but is very solid (The underside still has the complete factory undercoat on it It.) It has many good parts - both mechanical and body, and interior. The only real rust is located on the lower driver's side front quarter, where there was improper bodywork done originally - and what is shown in the photos. There are no serious or structural rust issues - far from it. The clearcoat finish has been damaged on the uppward facing surfaces and needs repair. Again, the undercarriage has only surface rust at most - there are no structural problems. The interior is per the photos, and very good, also. (ebay limited me to 12 photos - which don't show the exceptional bodysides - without any parking lot damage.” |

Vehicle description
This is a Michigan-owned 1990 Volvo 240 sedan in need of repair now due to long-term storage . Currently it is not in running condition. It was a very solid, good running vehicle which was parked in order to perform routine repairs and service. It was owned by a local man who was a machinist, and had the car serviced routinely by one of Detroit"s best Volvo mechanics (Fine Tune Auto). This car has an excellent 4 spd automatic "overdrive" transmission - worth as much or more than the asking price of this sale. The motor was also very good - and still could be with servicing and now minor repair. The basic mechanics are solid and original throughout the car. The worst thing about the car is the paint now - which is primarily a clearcoat problem, the damage being to the upward-facing surfaces. The underside of the car still has the factory undercoat in place, the only real rust evident being to the exhaust system. You may be able to find spots of surface rust on unpainted/uncoated mechanical parts - but no major rust or structural damage. I bought the car originally because of its good condition - then I was forced to leave the project unfinished due to family issues. The motor turns over perfectly today - having been both fogged and oiled prior to storage - just like a boat motor. This Volvo was in the midst of a complete brake job when it was parked. The original parts are still with the vehicle. It also needed a waterpump, and now will need a battery. I would invest in a complete ignition tuneup, also. The tires are no longer safe for road use due to storage, the vehicle now needing to be towed via flatbed - or trailered . The vehicle is located on a major road in the northeast Detroit suburbs - in between I-94 and I-75. If you want this car transported - you will have to arrange this yourself. I have no experience in shipping autos, sorry. This sale is for a repairable or parts car, as shown in the photos and as described. All my ebay sales are final. The price on this sale should make this a decent investment. -The transmission alone is worth more than the asking price for the entire car. Best to yo u all, Rrrustyron
