Vehicle description
This is a complete car that I drive regularly. It is by no means perfect and would require substantial attention to make a reliable daily commuter. I bought the car in boxes last fall after the previous owner lost interest in the project. He claimed to have rebuilt the engine and brakes and replaced many of the suspension components.
Positives: These cars are fairly rare and really nice examples command a premium. This is a complete car that is an excellent starting point for a restoration or track day project. The 5 speed transmission shifts perfectly and the brakes are in great condition. The cooling system works properly and doesn"t leak. The interior is complete and in fair condition. The electrical systems are intact and function properly. Power locks and windows function.
Negatives: The engine leaks oil and smokes when ran hard. It leaves a noticeable trail of oil smoke when you touch redline. At idle and normal driving conditions there is no hint of smoke. The paint is in poor condition and the left quarter panel bondo work is purely amateur. The front bumper cover is ragged and currently held together with tie wraps. There is a mileage brand on the title.
The car is fun to drive and would make a great summer project.
