Vehicle description
I"m selling my Supercharged "89 MR2. I purchased it in 1994, and it was my daily driver in Seattle until I moved to upstate NY in 1999. It"s seen few miles since then, and I haven"t more than two tanks of gas through it in the last two years. Most of the time, it"s been sitting in my garage on a float charger, and started once a month or so.
This is the factory supercharged version of the First-Generation MR2 - from what I understand, fewer than a thousand were imported into the U.S., only during 1988 and 1989. They"re certainly uncommon, and this one is in uncommonly good shape.
It"s got about 153k miles on it, and is stock. It"s starting to puff a little blue smoke upon startup, and it suffers from the typical leaky T-tops that so many of us "enjoy". The body is straight, except for a few parking lot dings. It"s been repainted once.
It"s never seen salt, and has been as reliable as, well, a Toyota. It comes with replacement sealed beams, a manual, and the factory T-Top bags. It has a clean NY Title, and needs nothing to be a daily driver again. It gets about 33 mpg average, and about 200 miles per tank.
