Vehicle description
The final year of one of the greatest Mercedes ever built, this 1985 final year edition of the W123 series has the latest and greatest upgrades to the OM617 engine and transmission. Very smooth running engine that starts immediately with very good compression and absolutely no smoke. The 4-speed automatic transmission shifts very well and there is no delay going into gear. 288k miles may seem like a lot but that averages to only 9k per year and everyone knows these engines will last forever with proper maintenance. I"ve owned this daily driver, rust-free coupe just over 3 years and it has absolutely no problems. I know it"s a cliche, but I honestly would drive this car cross-country today.
I"ve always used 100% Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil as did the previous owner. The most recent repairs/upgrades that come to mind are:
New body paint New exhaust
CV joints Motor mounts Timing chain & guides
Brakes Master cylinder
Radiator Paint Stereo & speakers Correct European headlights Rebuilt cruise control module LED instrument lights 12v socket (modified ashtray) Included, but not installed:
New trunk seal gasket OEM radio (Becker) OEM round lights
NOS aftermarket hood/bonnet NOS front grille support/slam panel NOS aftermarket left & right front fenders OEM ashtray The only issues (see photos) are:
Broken driver-side door lock knob/lever Small tear in driver seat bolster - Was there when I bought it and has not spread Rear seat net/pocket frames broken
Rear window defroster inoperative Everything works, no rust, and no leaks anywhere. Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this car.
