Vehicle description
I have owned this car for 6 years, and spent a lot of money to get it to its current shape. The car is mechanically sound. it starts runs and drives. Recently serviced. Engine sounds good and transmission shifts well. Fresh paint and no rust. Interior is mint for its age. Brakes and suspension are good. New Exhaust. The Speedline wheels are nice and tires are good (but old). Major electrical work. Title and carfax are clean.
Here is more general info on the Bertone:
The Fiat X1/9 was produced from 1972 through 1988. This mid-engined sports car was designed by Marcello Gandini of Bertone, an individual who had designed many reputable vehicles including Lamborghini. After 1983 the X1/9 was available but through the Bertone nameplate. Malcom Bricklin handled the Bertone importations. The car was equipped with a targa top, AM/FM stereo radio with cassette player, power windows, tinted glass, air conditioning, electric rear-window defroster, dual luggage compartments and a digital clock with stopwatch. Bertone models redesigned the footwells to give more legroom and sitting comfort to taller occupants. Other luxury features like power windows, leather seats, and air conditioning were improvements added by Bertone.
The car is a 32-year old Italian car and is not perfect. It will need some work. The car is sold AS IS WHERE IS. You are encouraged to inspect it. On Aug-22-17 at 11:33:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Just adding that I do not have the bumpers. Never had them. I think the car looks cool without them.
