Vehicle description
Exterior White 1972 VW with nice graphics (easily removed if you do not like them) in very good condition over straight steel panels with solid floors. Running boards in good condition connect the fenders. All badging, window surrounds, glass and lighting are in good condition. The period graphics make this a special VW find as it`s a real head-turner. Used primarily as a tow vehicle 4 weeks annually behind our motor home and carefully stored inside when not used. Standard steel wheels and VW dog dish chromed caps are all around. Chrome bumpers have some surface rust but all are very solid and use-able. Note the roof rack which goes with vehicle.
Interior Nice White with Gray accent high bucket seats in front and a long matching bench in the rear make up the seating. Matching door panels with a pouch for storage. Headliner is equally as nice. Dark gray carpeting covers the floor around the seats and gearshift. The black and white very simple dash highlight the radio, single circular instrument cluster, and glovebox, and all are in good condition. A few cracks in the original steering wheel are evident. Note the Wolfsburg castle logo in the center of the steering wheel.
Drivetrain All original and strong horizontally opposed, air cooled, carbureted motor with an original 4 speed transmission The rear mounted power plant sports many new parts. Painted exhaust tips are included. Note the engine bay and how clean it is. This little car goes down the road nicely and is very dependable. This is a Florida car. The heater is not working. Inexpensive parts are available to bring the heater back to it`s usefulness. ( I just never needed it)
Undercarriage Front suspension has been completely rebuilt. This with new shocks, half shafts, brake shoes, brake lines wheel cylinders etc. etc. as the list goes on. Scanning the underside, you can notice some evidence of rust repair. However underside is very solid
Drive-Ability This car starts right up and drives smoothly. It shifts well. It drives and stops straight. Generally its a smooth little ride that`s dependable. By the way it comes with the tow-bar, for the towing enthusiast.
Graphics The Beetles, Pink Floyd, etc, it just doesn`t get any better than this. These were installed in 2020. NOTE : They can be easily removed if you do not like the look.
