Vehicle description
My mom purchased it with 2,000 miles on it in 1972 and drove it daily until about 1995, when it got parked in a garage. Circa 2005 she put about $8,000 into it at the local shop and got the interior redone and the engine rehabbed. It was her daily driver until about 2010, and then sat in a garage for another four years until I refurbished it. I drove it for a few years, but it"s been idle the last year or two.

It drives great, and is mechanically sound. It only needs help starting if it"s been sitting for a few weeks, and then it"s just a little prime in the carb. It runs and drives great, but could use some attention on the carburetor and brakes. I replaced the rotors, caps, plugs, and fuel filter to get it running in 2010, and just put a new fuel filter on it yesterday.
It got rear-ended around 1990, so it"s got some bondo on the body. The body is straight, but the front bumper is a little off-center. The doors are a little tough to latch, and the latching mechanisms should be replaced.
MECHANICAL CONDITION Runs great, starts smoothly. Manual transmission shifts really nicely, and has no issues on the highway or in the city. The only mechanical fault I find is that the idle speed is a bit off, and probably just requires a carburetor adjustment. Can be driven away, though a tow recommended if going for a distance.
COSMETIC CONDITION The superficial issues is what makes this a good project car. In addition to a good repainting, here"s the issues I know of: Electrical: Honks sometimes when turning sharply, blinkers need replacing, radio does not work, fuel gauge does not work Interior: Dash is getting old, general upkeep needed Body: Front bumper not straight, trim pieces missing, some small dents, moderate rust in engine compartment, door latches are tricky, locks do not work, rubber components should be replaced, window rollers should be replaced, engine latch cord needs replacing (but it stays secure), brakes should be redone
