PREVIOUS BUYER DID NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGES, MUST SELL! Running, driving, stopping 440 powered 1972 Dodge Charger. MUST SELL, DON"T MISS OUT! This car has only been in my possession for a short period of time and was supposed to be a long term project, but I"m being relocated to Washington, DC for work and unfortunately will not be able to store the car.
I bought the car with a broken rear differential, and had it rebuilt by Bouchillon Performance here in South Carolina (receipts can go to winner of auction). The previous owner swapped the drivetrain for the 440, and told me the 727 that it"s mated to was rebuilt less than three years ago. He did not have paperwork, but Bouchillon pulled the pan and determined the transmission was very healthy. The car has an older front disc break setup, and replaced the front seats and recovered the rear within the last couple years as well. The car is sitting on what I believe are late model 20" Challenger wheels- a little large for the car, but mean-looking none the less. Previous owner also installed a new gas tank with in line electric fuel pump. Huge amounts of work were put into making this car streetable and strong, and she is well on its way to being a cruiser.
It needs cosmetic work, and maybe could be considered a 10 footer if you squint. It will need extensive body repair, as is evident by the poor bondo work and rust evident in parts of the car (I could not list it comprehensively; the previous owner told me it was 99% rust free, but on closer inspection this is closer to maybe 80-90%). In addition to numerous patches, the car needs the driver"s side window reinstalled (currently just sitting in place with door panels out) and passenger"s door latch repaired (currently does not latch). The paint is amateur at best, and really just a coating of black orange peel. No wiper hardware. Electrical will need to be gone through, currently no power to one head and both tail lights.
However, once the door and window are repaired, you"ll have a running, driving streetable beast that you should be able to drive while restoring. In fact, the car is currently registered, and I"ve driven it when I"ve had the chance. The only thing stopping me is having to tie the passenger door to the seat to keep the door from swinging open, and I don"t know how to repair the latch. Previous owner daily drove the car for a period of time before the latch broke.
This is an awesome car and an incredibly easy COVID summer project. Please contact me with questions, I"ll do my best to answer them. MUST SELL.
Buyer agrees to $800 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction close or bid will be cancelled.
