This is a truly beautiful, one of a kind - CUSTOM 1971 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible 75% Completed Project that"s been meticulously designed and built up to this point. It Currently rubs and drives, however - it is at a spot where someone else needs to step in to finish the additional work to get it to where it needs to be. All the hard conversion work has been completed professionally to give this amazing Classic Karmann Ghia the modern advantage of a digital fuel injected system that was installed with the 1995 2.2L Subaru engine & manual transmission along with a Magna Flow exhaust. 1971 Porsche Wheels and suspension were added in order to offset the increased torque that the modern engine would produce. The build was haulted about five years ago when the engine had finally been installed once the conversion of the chassis had been completed. Unfortunately, when it was, it was immediately evident that the engine had an issue when it overheated on its maiden run. The overheating itself was caught immediately so it did not cause any further issue but after a tremendous amount of time and money invested up to that point - thar the failed test run caused it to get parked in the garage until this year. It"s been there for over 5 years now - it"s time for someone else to resurrect this beauty. The owner, has finally although grudgingly, concluded he wouldn"t be able to accomplish as much, at least within a reasonable amount of time to show this vehicle its due respect. This is quite the special build as you can see from the pictures, and includes several boxes of the original parts off the Ghia in addition to many NOS original Condition parts that are either duplicates of the original part or meant to replace an original part that was not found to be on the Ghia when it was purchased at the start of he build. Regardless, you can rest assured that each and every part is present and accounted for if not 2 of each. There are two convertible tops with frames that are included - one in perfect condition and ready to install. The wood grain trim on this Ghia is one of its best features because of the beauty and depth of the grain and matching steering wheel. All the interior has been reupholstered with only the front two seats fully installed. The other seats were put in place for picture purposes and will need to be bolted in when at that point. The original engine is unfortunately not available any longer so it will not be included with this modernized Ghia.
