Vehicle description
Mint condition, and always parked indoors Brock Coupe, SPC006 , by Superformance with 5,980 miles. Registered under the coveted "SB-100" (California Senate Bill 100)—that means no smog certification, no California registration hassles for the life of the car! This consummate driving machine has earned "supercar" status and media attention since its introduction by Peter Brock & Superformance. You"ll get breathtaking acceleration—for example, 060 mph (096.5 kph) in less than 4 seconds, 11"s in the quarter mile, and a [Bonneville-league] top speed of over 200 mph. This Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White Striped beauty exhibits outstanding aerodynamics, superb engineering and construction quality & seductive good looks.
It was (designer, race-car driver and globetrotting photojournalist) Peter Brock who in 1964 designed the streamlined/ aerodynamic coachwork for the original Shelby Daytona Coupe. One of the original six Shelby Cobra Daytonas [CSX2299, piloted by Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant] won the LeMans 24-hour race [24 Heures du Mans] in 1964; the Cobra team went on to wrest that season"s World Manufacturers Championship title and trophy from Ferrari, awarded in February, 1965. Peter himself was fully engaged in the development of the Superformance Coupe nearly 40 years later. He also commissioned the help of Jack Roush [Roush Engineering] and original 427 Cobra designer Bob Negstad to help update the engineering and performance.
