Vehicle description
I bought this car last spring with plans to re-live the Corvair experience with my father. He had a ’63 coupe when I was a kid, and I cherish the memories of riding in that car with him. He has ridden in this one only once, but he is no longer able to get into and out of it easily. During the time I have had it, the gas tank and all exterior emblems have been replaced with parts purchased from Clark’s Corvairs. The floors are very solid and the only rust is in the tail light panel (see photo) and a small spot below the front bumper. The interior is in good condition with the exception of the very top of the rear seat (see photo). The headliner is very nice. The windshield is clear with no fogging at the edges. It came with the correct Spyder wheel covers, but I installed the same style hubcaps that my father’s ’63 had. It also has rocker moldings and transitions, but no wheel well moldings. They are available from Clark’s, but I like the cleaner look without them so I didn’t purchase them. The heater controls are not operating. I purchased a set of used cables, which will be included. It runs and drives well. The paint was done prior to me purchasing it, and it’s driver quality. It has the correct jack, lug wrench, and spare tire mounting hardware, though I keep the spare in the trunk. I have accumulated other parts which could go with it if you are interested. It would be a very easy restoration, or a great car to simply drive and enjoy. It is located near Milford, DE.
