Vehicle description
I have been building this body style Ford Truck since the late 1980s, I have been recognized by Custom Classic Trucks magazine in issue November of 2009 titled " Slick crazy in California". I am a passionate builder from mild, to wild, to 100% original as a hobby. My most recent build of one of the first "Ranger", never made it to advertising, as it was bought in a parking lot while I was gassing it up. I can provide this reference with deposit of purchase.
The rare 1962 F-100 4x4 was owned since new by a husband and wife in San Jose, where it was built, not custom ordered. The couple used it for camping only, I have old registrations from them from 1974 to 1989. The husband worked for PG and E in the land department.
Evidence in the photo"s and in person will substantiate all the originality, and special care the owners gave it.
It appears to me that when it finally burnt its valves it was parked.
The truck does run on 5-7 cylinders now, I just have to put the carburetor back on it,but will come with a rebuilt matching engine by Mike Pridgeon Racing Engines in El Cajon. The gas tank is thick with turpentine from sitting, I do have good correct fuel cells here.
It steers amazingly easy, shifts well, 4x4 works, brakes have new wheel cylinders and master.
The cabs roof is rotted from sitting under a tree, I will include a dry already stripped cab and doors, with clean title, as well as a good hood with purchase.
A complete tune up kit, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and pilot shaft bushing will also be included.
If you know what you"re looking at you will agree the condition is rare, and an on site inspection will not disappoint.
I can help you out like I do many folks, or you can go after it yourself.
The last truck I built, the "Ranger" I added power disc brakes, power steering, and " Custom Auto Air" heating and air conditioning, as well as a period correct high output stereo system, that had all the Blue Tooth, I pod, etc. etc. latest technology.
There are tons of options on how to build this one out, only limited by your imagination. With new pick-ups being upwards of $70,000.00 you can"t go wrong investing in this rare classic and building in all the creature comforts and drive ability of a new truck.
Don"t miss this opportunity to own a classic that will only gain value over time.
I have listed the vehicle locally and reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
