Vehicle description
Purchased out of Florida in June of 2014 " needing someone to complete finishing touches" WELL after paying $10k with shipping, the saga started. The engine leaked quite a bit and ran rough. I had the local Corvair club (of which I am a member) VP rebuild that engine. $3,300.00. I wasn"t quite satisfied with the outcome (couldn"t tell the VP) and proceeded to purchase a rebuilt unit with the correct oil fill location from California.$2,700.00 with shipping. While waiting for the engine to arrive, what the heck lets install a new clutch and pressure plate and release bearing! (Bearing sometimes yells until its awake). The transmission shifts as it should with no grinding. After engine install, two rebuilt carbs from the carbmeister out of Florida were added. Installed new front brake shoes, shifter bushings, plugs, wires cap, rotor, coil, battery and alternator conversion. I guess you can say the "finishing touches" are complete now! The body was completely prepped and painted before my possession and still in very fine condition with newly rechromed bumpers front and rear. The interior was also refinished BC ( before Charlie) and appears to be a Clarks reproduction package in excellent condition. Carpets are new as well and tires are radials with a full life remaining. Glass is all good, widows work as they should. One tiny rock chip in the windshield out of the line of vision. Wipers work, as do the lights and signals. Spare tire in freshly repainted trunk. Now complete with an investment of over $16K, it"s time to go. Car was Corvair of the month in Corvair forum magazine in 2014. Pictures represent the vehicle with its current non leaking, easy starting engine and it"s interior pristine condition. Most people have never seen of a Corvair wagon and the reactions are unique. As with any used vehicle, the sale is AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.SHIPPING WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. No international bids will be accepted unless approved beforehand.
