Vehicle description
1958 Nash Metropolitan Series IV Coupe
Unrestored car being sold as-is. Has all parts except original oil-bath air cleaner. Clean Nevada Title in original owner"s name. I acquired this vehicle with some others - I am selling at my cost to focus on the other vehicles. I have spent time to get it running. I am currently repairing the hydraulic clutch system - I will update once completed.
Solid body. Appears to be original paint - may have some touch-up areas. Car owned and operated in dry climate of Reno NV. Floorpan, unit-body frame, and drip-rails are rust free. Trim is complete. See description of rust issues below.
High compression 15F-N-H 1500 Engine fires right up and runs smoothly. Original high compression 15A-N-H 1500 Engine is seized and not installed, but comes with the vehicle.
Upholstery is complete. Original black/white houndstooth interior is under black vinyl seatcovers. Dash and trim in good to excellent condition. Headliner complete.
Here is a list of the significant issues of the car:
1. Rust. Typical rust in lower rear corners of both fenders. Typical rust in passenger rocker. Body, floorpans and frame are solid and rust free - except typical surface rust. See photos.
2. Body blemishes. A couple of small dents from the garage or parking lots. Not significant.
3. Typical paint cracks in factory leaded seams.
4. Small horseshoe-shaped crack in windshield at cowl. All other glass in good condition.
5. Seat upholstery is worn - expect to replace seat covers. Vinyl seat covers are tearing at the seams. Original seat covers are worn through and have sun damage. Driver"s seat seat-back bolster has animal damage. Headliner and door-panels are installed, complete, and not torn.
6. Brake system is original. There is peddle pressure, but should be serviced prior to daily use.
7. Tires hold air, but are old. Rims and all 4 hubcaps are original.
8. Electrical system is original. Radio, headlights and taillights do not currently work.
