Vehicle description
selling my 1931 Essex Super Six. This is a rust free, barn find that I"ve had a for a few years now and have been picking at it a little at a time. Car is mostly all original and has no modifications at all. Car was stored in a garage since 1952 until i bought about 4 years ago. this is a running, driving rust free survivor.
Essex motor company came about in 1918 until 1922 and was bought by hudson motors in 1922. This is a pretty rare car that is in all original condition. i have a box of spare parts that goes with the car.
Cosmetics
the interior is all original and the seat has no rips. the headliner is in tact , all the glass for the car is in good condition. the body is in good condition with zero rust and dents. paint has faded but still presentable. tires are decent shape and comes with the spare. car has rear rumble seat that has a rip in but in decent condition. car has original wooden wheels that are not rotted and in good condition.
mechanical
the 6 cylinder engine starts up and idles pretty well, car needs tuning up to really be driven, i have all parts for the car , i put a new exhaust manifold on the car last year , rest of the exhaust needs to be replaced. engine runs , no knocking , smokes a little but clears out.
transmission shifts well in and out of all gears.
clutch is a wet corked clutch and grabs a little high but is drivable the way it is.
all in all this a great original piece of American history. gets attention everywhere and is rust free survivor
car is fully intact and runs and drives the way it is.
