Close to $30,000 invested in Corson #008 ferrari 512BB kitcar for sale. Car is in LAS VEGAS. Built on 1987 fiero with calif. smog legal (stock) 5.7 liter TPI V8 (BAR sticker in doorjam) and 5 speed. Engine conversion was professionally done by V8 Archie using 1990 Trans Am-type CRATE engine. Fresh oil & filter change. New shocks and struts; many other Ferrari parts; about 30k miles on the engine. Driven to Las Vegas from Los Angeles 3 years ago, in storage since then but started occassionally. Starts right up. Working a/c, recent paint. Beautiful Euro interior with overhead console and push-button doors.
- Built on 1987 fiero which has larger gas tank and upgraded headlights (like the 1988 fiero) over prior years.
- 5 speed manual transmission with heat-treated gears.
- Simmons 16 inch wheels and tires. Front are 6 inch wide and rear are 8 inch wide (I think).
- professionally installed crate 1990 Trans Am engine with fresh oil and timing set. Functional OBD-1 port and engine is bone stock for easy maintenance. The install was done in Illinois by V8 Archie (V8 conversions still available - price them if you doubt my figures). This install is road-proven and runs terrific. Yellow top Optima battery, recent coolant and fail-safe thermostat. This install has been BAR approved in California and has the sticker in the door jam.
- New GM shocks and struts less than a few hundred miles ago
- Complete euro-interior with instrumentation. This interior is rare and no longer available new. Extra upholstery material available for perfect matching in case future repairs are needed.
- Approximate costs were $10,000 body kit, $4000 paint, $10,000 engine conversion (parts and labor), $3500 interior and upholstery, not including fiero donor and wheels and tires.
It would take at least 3 times the starting bid and MANY, many months to build and license another car like this.
Headlight doors need attached to hood; passenger front wheel and tire are stock fiero. Alpine stereo but needs door speakers. Alternator light ON and charges at only 11v - new alternator is about $100.
