Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 2009 Toyota Camry. Below is a detailed description of the current condition of my vehicle:
Engine/cooling system: The engine is in very good condition. I changed the oil and air filter this past week. I replaced the serpentine belt and spark plugs in 2017. The engine makes no unusual noises and there are no leaks anywhere. I changed the oil every 3k - 4K miles and have never had any issues with the engine. When the car sits overnight and it is turned on the next day you will see a light amount of blue smoke but it goes away quickly. My wife never noticed it but I did. It does not burn any oil. I always make it from oil change to oil change without adding any oil in between. I have also flushed the coolant 3 times since I have owned the vehicle. The vehicle has never run hot or overheated. The AC works great. No warning lights whatsoever. I scanned the ECU with my techstream program and no errors showed up. I also scanned it with a generic OBD scanner to show that all emissions monitor sensors are good to go (vehicle has never failed emissions testing) see picture. Many people will try to clear the codes or reset the battery in order to erase the check engine lights (MIL) right before selling a car. As you can see in the picture the the ecu has run through it’s emmision monitor cycles and all emission related systems checked out ok.
Transmission: The transmission is in very good condition. I have changed the transmission fluid twice. The first time was at around 63k miles and the second time at around 110k miles. I used OEM Toyota ATF both times. It shifts in all gears with no problem, no noise, or any other issue. As long as you continue to change the oil at around 60k miles the transmission will last for a very long time. Most people make the mistake of never changing the transmission oil until it reaches a very high mileage and then they change it for the first time causing the transmission to slip.
Exterior: The car has some dents. The largest is located on the passenger side quarter panel (see pics). There is another small dent on the rear trunk and another small dent on the roof. The rear driver side door has a very small portion touched up due to paint damage. It is difficult to see in the picture but it is there. I have attached pics for all of these issues. For the 9 years that we have had this car I have touched up various small rock chips and minor scratches throughout the car in order to prevent further rust or further damage.
Interior: The interior is in good condition overall but the driver seat bolster shows wear. There are no tears but the wear is obvious (see pic) the driver side door arm rest also shows some wear. The rest of the interior is well kept and shows wear consistent with a 10 year old vehicle with over 120k miles.
Suspension and tires: The tires have plenty of tread left and are not dry rotted. The suspension is in good condition. I have never had any suspension related issues with this car. I have replaced the brake pads a few times since I have owned this vehicle including one ABS sensor and 2 calipers. I also flushed the brake fluid every 2 - 3 years or so since I have owned the vehicle. Brake fluid is another fluid most people forget to change and that can lead to caliper issues and internal brake line corrosion.
Exhaust: The exhaust is original and in good condition - no leaks. I replaced the post O2 sensor last year. The old O2 sensor caused the first and only check engine light (MIL) this car has had since I have owned it.
Overall: I have thoroughly maintened this car over the entire time I have owned it and it has not failed once or broke down. The maintenance cost has been very little compared to other vehicles I currently own now and in the past. I believe if the maintenance is kept up on this vehicle it could easily last for another 200k miles. Unlike many people and dealers selling cars on I have been upfront with any issues through my descriptions and pictures that other individuals usually try to hide or omit in their listing. The buyer of this car will know exactly what he/she is getting. The reason we are selling this car is because we have a purchased a new vehicle and no longer need this one. The mileage is currently 123,190 but will go up slightly as people test drive it. I have a clear title to this car and it is on hand. I would drive this vehicle anywhere and not worry about it breaking down. If you would like more pictures feel free to contact me and thanks for looking at my listing.
