Vehicle description
hi there, thanks for looking at my mustang. this is a 2008 bullitt mustang. it was made to pay homage to Steve McQueen movie Bullitt that came out in 1968. ford has done this in 2001, 2008, and now 2019. for 2008, roughly 5,808 were produced. and only about 1,400 were painted black and this is one of those 1,400. this car is number 5164 off the production line.
upgrades over your standard 2008 gt mustang was different different cam and crankshafts, factory ford racing cold air intake and along with a tune to take red line up about 300 rpm. also brought power up to 315 HP and 325 ft lbs torque. it is also lowered a bit with upgraded suspension. it also got upgraded carbon ceramic brakes (That were replaced this April with a power-stop drilled and slotted rotor kit), 3.73 gearing, strut tower brace, and a custom tuned dual exhaust to sound like the original movie car.
the interior is basically the same as a gt premium with the leather seating, shaker 500 audio system, and a 5-speed manual. but there are some slight differences. the bullitt got the upgraded seats and steering wheel out of a GT500, machined aluminum dash pieces, a really nice aluminum shift knob (that it did not have when i got the car so i put in a Hurst short throw shifter), and the gauges were redesigned with a different font and made to look like you are looking through a gun sight.
the exterior was almost completely de-badged to give it a really clean look with the exception of a gun sight bullitt emblem on the trunk lid. it also got HID headlights.
to sum this up, this is a really cool, rare car that is getting harder to find. i love this car and I"ve had my fun with it, but its time for me to move on and get back into classic cars. overall condition i would put it at a 9/10. this was a drivers car and not kept in a garage with a cover on it and only driven to the local cars and coffee. I"ve had it almost 2 years and I"ve put about 6,500 miles on here so she has a few paint chips in the front end and some scratches. nothing that cant be fixed over a weekend. the car with come with 3 extra factory rims, one of them has the original style tire on it and was bought by the previous owner to use as a spare as the car did not come with one from the factory. the other rims were bought as they popped up online cheap enough so i could have an extra set of wheels and tires but i never got that far. i have the original shifter, gas door cover(did not have the aluminum door from factory), and an SCT tuner with 87, 90, and 93 octane tuning"s on it along with the factory tune. Currently run the 93 octane tune and boy does it make a difference.
