Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty is a modified vehicle with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great. Vehicle Details 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT Up for sale is an adult owned and driven Super Duty. It has spent its entire life as an Arizona truck and it completely rust free. I have been an aircraft mechanic for 25+ years and I am very meticulous about how I care and maintain my vehicles. I am the second owner and purchased it in June 2015 in Scottsdale Arizona at 59,000 miles. At that time I took care of the 6.4 problematic issues by properly taking care of the exhaust filter and EGR system. It now has 152,000 miles and is running great. A lot of upgrades have been done to it to make it how it is today. ENGINE Ford 6.4 diesel with H&S Mini Max. I never run it on performance mode. Never had a need to. It was used to resolve the problematic issues that the 6.4 had. S&B air intake along with a 4” down pipe. Mishimoto radiator was installed in November to eliminate the plastic cap radiator issues. At the same time a new water pump was installed after some seepage was observed around the pulley shaft. I just upgraded to billet turbo cartridges from Prosource Diesel. The billet wheels on the turbos have a better balance and quicker spool up. As far as maintenance on the engine I have always changed my oil at 5,000 miles. I never wait till the suggested 7,500 mile interval. All coolant service is recent along with the fuel/VGT cooler. New batteries installed on October 6, 2021. SUSPENSION/DRIVETRAIN/STEERING The truck has a 10” suspension lift from RIZE Industries and is cushioned by FOX Racing 2.0 reservoir shocks. The RIZE upper and lower control arm whom joints were replaced with greaseable rehuildable Johnny Joints from Ballistic Fabrication. There are dual shocks up front and singles in the rear. The ring and pinion gears were changed from the factory 3.73 to a 4.88 ratio. Along with that the rear was fitted with a Yukon Zip Locker/ air locker in the rear and a Dana Power Lok in the front axle. It is NOT a Track Lok. It is a legit Power Lok and was overhauled at the time of installation. The truck also has a 200 PSI air system with a five gallon air compressor tank. It runs the rear air locker but can be used for other items such as tire inflation or air horns if that’s your thing. The wheels are a 24x14 Monster Mudder chrome wheel with a 40x15.50r 24 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T mud terrain tire. The tires have close to 20,000 miles on them and are rotated religiously every 5,000 miles. Tires are too expensive to neglect like most people will. Also tires are correctly inflated to proper levels based on manufacturers recommendations. The power steering box was ported for hydraulic assist steering. The pressure and return lines are run to a PSC steering actuator. This really helps steering the large tires and prevents wandering. INTERIOR The inside of the truck was gutted and treated with dynamat sound deadening material to include the roof, rear wall, and doors. I then added foam padding to the floor and doors and then finished with MLV (mass loaded vinyl) on the floors to make the interior as quiet as possible. New windshield and strip was just installed September 2021. I also installed new door glass because of the common issues with the felt strips scratching the glass. New outer felt strips were installed at the same time. Windows were just tinted with XPEL Prime XR Plus ceramic window tint. The window tint has a lifetime warranty that is transferable. The stereo is a Pioneer 4100NEX. It has Bluetooth, back up camera and hands free. The door and rear speakers are Pioneer TS-D6802R 6x8 speakers. They are very crisp and clean sounding. They are powered by an older Kicker 4 channel amp that just won’t die! ! Behind the rear seat are 4 DC Audio M3 8” subwoofers. They are powered by 2 SKAR audio SK1500.1 amplifiers strapped together putting out plenty of power for the subs! EXTERIOR Not much to say here. It is Oxford white and has Bushwhacker Fender Flares. It has AMP Research power running boards that are completely hidden with the doors closed. I stay on top of my paint care and is treated to Jet Seal paint sealant every 9 months and is waxed every 2 months. Aside from very minor imperfections such as rock chips it shines like new. There’s a 63 gallon auxiliary fuel tank in the bed of the truck. It is operated by an electronic shut off valve and the switch is inside the truck. When opened it gravity feeds fuel into the main tank filling it and moving your fuel gauge back to full. There is a Rigid Industries light bar and KC HiLites LED fog lights installed in the front bumper of the truck. SECURITY The truck is protected by a Viper security system. This provides remote door locks and remote start. THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE is the turbo cool down timer. When activated it allows you to set the timer, remove the keys and lock the truck and it will automatically shut off after several minutes. The purpose of this is to prevent oil coking in the turbos. Basically coking is engine oil baking and crystallizing which in turn can destroy your turbo bearings. I know it’s a lot to read but it’s not just some slapped together POS. I love the truck and it has been good to me but as I get older I am starting to have some back, knee, and joint issues and I am starting to take interest in something a little closer to the ground. Along with that my wife is short and has trouble getting in so she don’t like to go anywhere in the truck. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me. Thanks!
