Audi’s "D3" V10 Sedan. This was Audi’s Flagship sedan in the 2000"s, the 2008 S8 (D3 platform) with the 450hp direct-injection 5.2L V10 shared with Lamborghini. This particular example, with just under 62k miles, is one of the lowest-mileage and cleanest examples offered in the country. The Audi S8’s 5.2L direct-injection V10 engine is a slightly-larger, 450-horsepower version of the Lamborghini Gallardo. Yet the power is controlled and on tap when you want it, and tame when you don’t. Audi’s aluminum Spaceframe technology is used in this platform to lighten the car. You can also set the adaptive air suspension to either “comfort”, “automatic”, or “dynamic”, and the entire suspension transforms into your desired driving dynamic, with “dynamic” mode physically lowering the suspension for a sports-orientated experience. A six-speed Tiptronic transmission (featuring steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters) directs the power to a rear-biased Quattro all-wheel drive system. Massive disk brakes provide stopping power unmatched by its competitors. Beyond performance, the 20” inch wheels are some of the best-looking Audi has produced. Finally, the Lamborghini V10 engine and exhaust are symphonic beyond what you can imagine. The engine easily obliterates the muffled turbo sounds of later generations of Audis; frankly, it’s easily Audi’s best sounding engine. Ownership: I obtained this S8 from a line of car enthusiasts who maintained it religiously. Very recently an Audi specialist shop performed a $1,000+ carbon cleaning of the engine, a service that is a ‘spare no expense’ approach and fitting for an S8 in this condition in addition to a transmission service. Some of the Rare Features bringing the original MSRP to over 114k : Dynamic Cruise Control ($2100), Bang & Olufsen sound system featuring 14 speakers and 1000 watts of power ($6300), Driver assistance Pkg ($1400), a Solar Sunroof that keeps the cabin cool by power the climate control ($790), Full Leather ($4900), Carbon Fiber Inlays ($500), 4 Zone Climate Controls ($600) (See attached copy of the original build for more information) Condition: This S8 has been adult enthusiast owned and maintained. The level of care this car has received is evident in both its physical condition and in the way it drives. This S8 has no reported accidents or evidence of repainting, the engine runs perfectly with all services completed by Audi specialists. Some imperfections needing mention include an error with the side assist lights (blind spot monitoring) minor wheel scratches and some scuffing under the front valance. Overall, imperfections are below normal wear for similar examples in my opinion. Additional Information: The tires have plenty of tread, and are a high-quality all season compound perfectly matched to the character of the car. The heavy Audi rubber floor mats are installed and in excellent condition. Included are 2 original remote keys, owner’s manual, and original tool box and spare. Shipping.
