About this vehicle This 2008 Audi S4 is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Vehicle Details 2008 Audi S4 2008 Audi S4 Avant SIX-SPEED MANUAL, featuring the mighty 4.2L 5-valve-per-cylinder V8. If you're reading this you know the manual transmission is hard to come by. I searched for quite awhile to find this one, and it's been super fun. But I have 4 kids and they can't all fit, so I need to let it go. Awesome car! I'm the second owner, according to CARFAX. FEATURES: - 340hp / 302 lb.-ft. V8, 40 valves, gasoline engine - all-wheel drive Quattro system - great for snowy conditions I hear (but I live in San Diego) - Recaro seats front and rear; front seats are heated - black leather interior - silver metallic exterior paint - 6-speed manual transmission - cruise control (works great) - full-size spare with same alloy wheel as the others - burled walnut interior trim - Audi Symphony 6-disc CD changer, in-dash (works great) - dual-zone climate control (AC and heat work great, no issues) - factory roof-rack - all-weather Audi floor mats and rear cargo mat (says A4 on it) - power sunroof / moon roof (works great) - Sirius satellite radio capable CAVEATS: This car has 105k miles on it, and it's about 13 years old. It's not perfect. I recently had some minor scratches fixed at the body shop, but there are still some small dings and scratches here and there. It has never had any body damage under my watch, and I don't believe it ever had any significant body work done - the CARFAX shows nothing. Additional issues: - steering wheel has several "crazes" (cracks) in the clearcoat plastic. NBD in my opinion, but could be annoying. - several minor dings and scratches - like nearly all Audi 4.2 V8s, it does consume some oil. expect to top it off about every 600-1000 miles. - leather upholstery is worn in places but no rips - wheels have the usual curb rash but look good overall - tires are well used but have lots of life left in them (in my opinion) The major and perhaps only thing that should be addressed in the relatively near future is the timing chain. As you probably know, these engines have the timing chains on the back of the engine, and the timing chain guides are plastic and should be replaced at some point. No one seems to agree on when exactly that is, but I can attest that this engine has no "rattle" on cold startup, for what it's worth (maybe nothing). The cost of this service is approximately $6k, from what I've read. Cars that have had the service (or are very low mileage) have sold in the $25k-$30k range on Bring A Trailer: https:/ bringatrailer.com/audi/s4/ STUFF I'VE FIXED OR TESTED: - just passed smog this week, no issues. - minor paint work done to fix some faded bits and scratches; nothing beyond a small ding or scratch was repaired. - all-new spark plugs a few months ago ($300!) - both front seat heaters repaired ($1000!) - both front door window seals replaced - windshield wipers replaced $500 deposit due within 24 hours of close of auction. After that I may re-list it. I reserve the right to sell the car locally as well. Car is in San Diego CA (92109). Buyer to arrange pickup or fly in and drive it home. I drove it here from SF when I bought it - fun time. Buyer may send a mobile mechanic to check the car over - happy to help with that if not too much hassle.
