Vehicle description
This is a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 2500HD Ext. Cab SLT, with a 6.0L V8 and manual transmission. We purchased the truck bone stock in 2011. Over the course of five years the main upgrades included extra fuel tank (now has a total fuel capacity of 56 gallons), custom straight axle swap, 37x12.5R16.5 tires on double beadlock HMMWV rims, NV4500 5-speed manual transmission swap with low granny gear, and manual shift NP261HD transfer case.
The truck was built for off-road travel in mind and competed in numerous Nevada Trophy rallies. Feel free to scroll through our ExPo Build Thread for the catalog of the project. The truck will do anything from rock crawling, general trail riding, and cruising down the freeway at 80 mph without issue. Average fuel mileage is around 10-12 mpg. It has been a west coast truck all its life so is completely rust-free. We have recently moved to Minnesota from Nevada so it now has a MN title (March 2017).
It still has the original engine which has been well taken care of with regular oil changes and other preventative maintenance and continues to run without issue. There is a tear in the driver"s side seat upholstery along the seam next to the door. The ABS is not currently hooked up but is easy to do so.
The truck also features a CB radio & antenna, front and rear winch hookups (using 1/0 cable and Anderson power pole connections), dual battery and dual alternator setup, interior 120V inverter, custom-built rear bumper, custom-built rock sliders and front fender guards, and numerous LED lights mounted on custom-built roof rack along with LightForce driving lights on the front ARB bumper in addition to coordinating switches inside of the cab.
