Mechanic’s Special 2006 Mercury Montego Premier 116,100 miles on a super clean Mercury Montego Premier that is being auctioned as a mechanic’s special due to many issues that I do not have the means to resolve. Below I have listed these problems for your consideration. Oil leaks (very minor) from the valve covers, oil pan, and timing cover, no drips on ground. The A/C compressor is not working. Upper motor mount broken. Cruise control not working. A note on number 4, the problem is the O-ring on the input shaft, it has disintegrated and just needs a new (or re-conditioned) torque converter with the new O-ring. A note on number 2, I have a replacement compressor, filter-dryer and bottle of compressor oil. If my price is met this will be included with the car. Now for a description of the car: A very nice, straight body, great paint and interior. Interior is all leather front and rear, dual power seats, 2 way memory for drivers seat. Rear seat has a fold down/up arm rest/cup holder. Automatic climate control (single zone.) Has a Kenwood touch screen AM/FM, Sirius capable, single CD, USB, Bluetooth and Garmin Navigation Radio. It’s an automatic (CVT) AWD, 2WD normal driving, 3.0 liter V-6. Also has a powered moon roof. It has rear backing warning sensors (module has a problem) in the bumper; this works, not very loud but audible. Has alloy wheels and if the buyer wants I have a set of snow tires mounted on a separate set of wheels that will go with the car as well. Headlights are of the HID type and are factory (OEM) installed. Rear lights are LED’s (red only) and are factory (OEM) installed. Windows are tinted, on all four doors and rear window as well.
