I"m thinking of selling my 2006 SL500. Roughly 65K miles, I"ve owned it for 2 years and sorted through just about every typical issued for the R230 known on forums. The ABS has a new pump, valve controls, ride height sensor, lowering links, filter,accumulators, fluids all changed.
Complete engine tune up, power top has new pump and new cylinder as a precaution as i did not want to flood of hydraulic fluid leaking on to my head.
Electrical systems has new OEM alternator, new 100 amp fuse, both batteries are brand new. I had custom two tone leather seat covers installed with diamond pattern in the center inserts. All maintenance is up to date, Brand new OEM brakes all round rotors/pads. New Starter, New suspension on front end.
When I bought the car it ran fine, it was owned by an older person. I had a mystery ABC issue right away which turned out to be only a bad ride height sensor. That started me on my road trip to madness in replacing everything I read on the forums. Car runs and rides great.
The body is in good shape but does have some scratches which if I will address if I keep the car. I"ve spent a fortune on this car and I understand I wont get it back. I just never drive it.
