Vehicle description
Up for auction is a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis with 56k miles. We purchased this car as a family backup vehicle approximately 4 years ago. Since then, we have accumulated 20k additional miles on this Marquis. This car runs and drives excellent.
Included in this sale are the factory OEM 16” Mercury steel wheels/rims with near new snow tires on all four wheels. Currently on the car, there are 17” Ford Mustang wheels with good tread on all four corners with the rear tires looking nearly new.Also included are the 2 OEM Keys and Fobs, along with the Valet Key and the original owner’s manual.
Recent maintenance within the past 100 miles by my mechanic using Motorcraft parts included spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil change, serpentine belt, and fuel filter. A new Ford windshield was also installed within the past month.There are a few items that are wrong with the car:
1.) Last fall, an area of paint on the top front of the car began peeling. I have had my mechanic primer over that area to inhibit any additional peeling. I will let the new owner decide on the best course of long-term repair. There are also small scraps, scratches, and a few dents consistent with a vehicle that is 15 years old.
2.) The previous owner was an elderly lady who was a smoker. I had the car interior professionally cleaned when I first took possession of the car 4 years ago. There are 3 burn holes on the front driver seat 2 burns on the driver side carpet. The car has not been smoked in since my ownership 4 years ago.
3.) The cruise control has never worked since owning the car.
4.) The Air Conditioner is not blowing cold air. It may just need to re-recharged. This is a recent development within the last month. I have dropped the opening price by $500 to allocate for any potential repairs to the AC.
5.) The driver’s door panel area that holds the switch for the power seats has a small crack.
