Vehicle description
Well it is time to sell off one of the toys and since I have 3 variations of this same car this one will have to go.
What we have here is a 2005 Mercedes SL500 that has 44K miles and still looks darn near new. First lets get out of the way the fact that this has a Flood Salvage Title. I have many flood cars and this one is similar to the other ones I have kept, in that even though it was totaled due to a "flood" there was no flood damage. I bought this from an insurance company after a lengthy inspection that lead me to believe there was absolutely no water intrusion to the car. I drove it away from the sale and haven"t had a problem since related to it being a salvage "flood" vehicle. I still don"t know how a car can be totaled and issued a salvage title when it sustains no water damage.
The only thing that caused any water damage was done by the fact I am a moron and did not put the top up on a hot Georgia summer day when a thunderstorm rolled through and caught me off guard. It rained for a couple minutes before I could get to the car but in that time enough water got into the radio (the screen comes on but the radio/nav does not work and it will shut itself down after a few seconds). Ever since that little rain incident the pushbutton start is intermittent as is the keyless entry. I think that has to do with the fact that it is now telling me that it wants a new battery as the battery light comes on. Now, this is where it gets weird and I am not a conspiracy theorist but one afternoon while I took both of my SL500s and my SL55 out for a drive all three cars had the battery light come on and the ESP fault flashed on the dash. Never had the problem before that and it was VERY odd that all 3 in the same afternoon did the same thing. I haven"t changed out the rear battery as it powers everything Mercedes claims is a "convenience feature" and once you run the car for a few minutes everything goes back to normal. Starting battery which i located in the front has never been an issue.
That said, the rest of the car is beautiful and it still turns heads with the top up or down. Top works fine, a/c is cold, heat is hot, windows all work fine, climate control works fine, etc, etc. Air suspension is a dream to drive and the car runs, sounds, rides and handles like new. Just a pleasure to drive. Tires are in great shape, about the worst thing I can say about the car is that it needs a front blinker lens (pictured) and has some minor scrapes (pictured).
Premium fuel of 93 octane is all I have used in it and it has Mobil 1 oil that is crystal clear.
Interior is very nice and seats work as they should. This car is equipped with a wood steering wheel which adds to the beauty of the car.
Comes with factory tool roll and first aid kit.
Deposit of $250 due in 24 hours, remaining except cash of course will have to clear before the car is released.
I am sure I am missing something so please feel free to ask any question and I will be glad to help. I have had this car for about a year and put several thousand miles on it so I know it pretty well but it has been a while since I have driven it and this is not the kind of car to park and just let sit there so I hope it finds a nice home to someone that can give it the love it deserves.
Fly in to Savannah airport and drive it home, this car has no issues and will go anywhere. Thanks for looking and again email me with any questions.
