Vehicle description
Up for sale is a 2005 chrysler crossfire limited roadster that has been immaculately maintained. I purchased this car 2 years ago and in that time I have cleaned it up and upgraded the safety, styling, and maintenance of the vehicle to make it a reliable and stylish car to drive. As a former mechanic, the reason I have always been drawn to the crossfire is because it is made with the well proven Mercedes 3.2L M112 E32 engine that has been implemented on various other vehicles. This is the second crossfire I have owned and I have know a few owners that have over 400k on the odometer and it"s still going strong. One of the great things about this car is that maintenance is relative easy and there is a huge forum online and on facebook of owners that are well versed in how the car operates. The only reason I am selling my crossfire is because with age my back cant handle the low seats as well as I use to. I have put over 12k into this vehicle and there is not much more I can modify or improve so it"s time to move on to another project. Here are some of the highlights of the vehicle:
Upgrades:
1) This crossfire has been outfitted with HID low and high beams (5000k) and as a result has greatly improved night time driving.
2) I recently installed a backup camera that is wired directly to a new replacement rear view that pops up whenever the car is put in reverse. The larger mirror/video screen and camera eliminate the blind spots that are hard to overcome in the stock vehicle.
3) installed new stereo head unit with flip up 7" touchscreen so bluetooth audio and calling can be utilized as well as navigation
4) installed a dual usb outlet with voltage indicator where the cigarette lighter used to be. This makes charging devices easier and will alert you of any battery/alternator issues.
5) installed a tablet mout along with a Samsung galaxy tab s4 with cellular connectivity (unlocked) to make navigation more intuitive. Will be included with the purchase of the car ($450 value)
6) replaced license plate lamps, courtesy lights, and turn signals with high intensity led lights that last longer and are more efficient
7) replaced third brake light interior lights to modern, LED lights. The third brake lights are a common issue with these roadsters and once they are swapped for new LED"s they are trouble free.
8) Previous owner performed the "sticky key" fix.
9) Previous owner swapped camshaft position sensor with Bosch brand.
10) replaced battery and alternator. I had a bad battery 1 month ago that I replaced with a duralast gold (3 year warranty) and then I noticed the voltage was dropping 2 weeks back and replaced the alternator with a db electrical branded one. These alternators have great reviews and are new, not rebuilt. Also, it adds a subtle electrical sound when revving that was not present with the stock alternator.
11) deleted the muffler for a better exhaust note. Had them keep and straighten the stock tips for a better aesthetics.
12) the previous owner swapped the factory rims with staggered chrome foose rims. They have a little curb rash and one is missing a center cap but they look very nice on the car. I also bought a full spare Mercedes tire with the proper lugnuts to secure it and will include this with the purchase of the vehicle.
13) painted the calipers bright red. They look amazing with the chrome rims.
14) just swapped oil brand and viscosities 200 miles ago to liquid molly leichleif 5w-40. This is a better known engine oil than the standard mobile 1 0w-40 especially for vehicles over 100k miles. When performing this swap I used liquid molly engine flush which does a great job at removing any engine deposits that may be present. As a result, the car actually runs and feels more spirited than the day I bought it. Likewise, when at a complete stop, the engine is so quite you can barely hear it running.
15) blacked out the grille and taillights (leaving the stop, reverse and turn markers unobstructed) and clear coated them with 10 layers of uv resistant coating.
16) installed a garmin speak with alexa in the dash for hands free functionality and smart device integration. This will need to be reset to the buyers phone by removing the plastic trim piece on the dash. (Very simple to do)
17) installed custom, weatherproof diamond stitched floor mats that cover the entire carpet area and match the interior of the vehicle.
18) replaced all 4 tires just recently. There is around 80% tread remaining.
19) debadged the "crossfire" lettering from the back of the vehicle to make it easier to clean.
As you can see, I have put in a lot of work into this vehicle and its arguable that it runs better than it did off the factory assembly line. Everytime I take this car out I have people stop and compliment me on how sharp the car looks and sounds. I am 100% confident that whoever buys this will love it as much as I have and get many, many, many years of fun driving out of it.
