2004 VW Passat GLS 1.8Turbo. 4 Door, Only 2 owners total. Needs major mechanical repair regarding engine valve replacement. Some cosmetic damage mostly front bumper under-carriage plastic piece , driver door upholstery fabric coming off : PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR COSMETIC EXTERIOR DAMAGE & INTERIOR AREAS. EXPLANATION: Timing belt broke while driving car, but has been replaced (Oct.2019 for $959.00 cost) This is an "Interference Engine" classification. Car will start and run, but oil compression is low under current conditions and is unacceptable and not advisable for driving until 2 of 4 valves are replaced. Simple explanation, this vehicle engine is only running on 2 out of 4 cylinders.
The body had 225,000 miles, the transmission replaced with used has only 120,000 miles, and engine was replaced with used 78,000 miles 3 years ago in Oct 2016. New radiator & overflow reservoir along with new hoses in 2018, new interior AC console switch panel replaced in Sept.2019, but AC needs freon charge, new fuel pump replacement 2016, water pump replacement 2016, Oil change with filter Aug. 2019, New front headlight assemblies ( both ) replaced in 2019. HAVE MOST OFor or ALL REPAIR PAPERWORK REPAIRS / RECEIPTS . I am the 2nd owner, purchased from Sullivan Auto in Feb. 2014 (Fredericksburg VA) TITLE FREE AND CLEAR. This is a mechanic"s garage project requiring the replacement of 2 engine valves ; CAR WAS RUNNING GREAT BEFORE TIMING BELT BROKE. ALSO GREAT CAR TO USE FOR SPARE PARTS IF YOU ALREADY OWN ANOTHER 2004-2006 VW Passat, possibly Jetta or Passat wagon. Turbo 1.8T.
