Vehicle description
Up for auction is my 2004 F150. This has been a dependable driver for me for the past four years, mainly it is used to get to the airport and back. It has a clean South Carolina title as I relocated there June 2017 and have since moved back to the Chicago area. The history of the truck is as follows, was purchased for our sales rep in Texas he drove it for six years all highway miles then it was brought back to our shop in Elgin, Illinois and was used as a spare vehicle and kept indoors and used sparingly. I bought it about four years ago from the company and like stated I have used it mainly as a airport vehicle both here and in Beaufort South Carolina the past year. Currently it has been stored in my garage since last May and I need to make room.
The truck can use a nice cleaning to get the sand off the rubber floor, outside wash and engine bay needs a cleaning. The rear tail gate was damaged as shown from a heavy equipment part coming loose. The rear bumper has some rust the front bumper has paint chips and little rust spots. The body has a small ding on the drivers door but is VERY CLEAN everywhere else. It does not have power locks or windows, they installed a cd player which works years ago. I have kept up with the maintenance oil changes since I have had the truck, I would do a full tune up if it was going to be a daily driver, but it runs great so I have not. The AC works like new, the battery was replaced a month or so ago. One issue it does have is an oil leak, a shop told me it was the rear of the intake manifold, I have not been able to verify this is the source. It is not a massive leak as I only had to add a little oil every month or two or when I change it. The engine and trans are original with no known issues. Tires all look the same as the one in the photo, The door weather stripping needs some adhesive both doors the stripping falls out of place nothing major I always just push it back into place. I think the brakes and possibly a caliper need or will need some attention at some point if driven more than I do. The vehicle has been smoke in the vehicle when used, I have sprayed it a month ago and it really does not smell that bad at all according to my wife and kids. The plastic trim around the lights and grill on the front has some paint peel, can be removed and repainted easy job.
This truck for me has been a champ with all the travel to SC and back to IL, in SC it was driven about 150 miles a week to and from the Charleston airport and to the beach on the weekends with the kids.
