Vehicle description
I have a 2004 BMW X3 Located in Richmond Virginia that I am selling to the highest bidder.
It has some good and bad items.
Mileage is around 159.000 miles
GOOD: Good frame, and overall body, no noticeable rust. Really nice interior, Brand new 5 year battery. Really strong engine, all lights work. Carpet is in god shape, has brand new high quality floor mats in front.
BAD: Check engine lights are on. all of them. This seems to indicate that the Transfer case solenoid is bad. Google BMW x3 transfer case solenoid/motor replacement. It shows what is involved to replace. About an hour for a good mechanic, or 2 hours for a novice. I have a used part and a new gear for that if you want to rebuild it.
All tires are dry rotted from sitting, SHOULD be good enough to get you home if you wanted to drive it, but it does NOT have an inspection sticker. So technically it should not be driven, but physically could (It runs and starts, and drives etc). It needs front and back brakes (All disk).
Exhaust seems fine (not rusted at all from quick inspection). The passenger side rear door was spray painted, so looks bad, but does not have "dents" or very minor if it does, just off color.
The driver side rear windows does not roll down, hence the tape on the glass to keep it up.
As you see this is otherwise a great car.
Yes it needs some things, but the "things" are mostly labor. If you are a handy person, it should be a good project you can knock out in a few days.
This vehicle is being sold as is. To be repaired or parted out.
I would like to get around $3500, but again, if you bring me cash in person, I would likely sell.
Otherwise I will sell to high offer.
Again, this is AS IS, not guarantees. I have disclosed all I know.
I bought it to fix and drive, but now I need a daily driver so this has to go.
This can only be picked up in person in Richmond Virginia, or car carrier.
I may be able to get a guy to deliver it to you. Think he charges $35 a mile, but if you buy, you are responsible to pick it up. No tags will be provided. The car can drive but do to not being inspected, I can"t advise you to do so.
One last time, as is, no refunds, available for inspection only BEFORE you buy.
$50 deposit to buy vehicle, non refundable.
Who would this vehicle be for?
A handy person who can do the repairs. Should be very cheap to fix, just labor, and brake pads. and transfer case solenoid (or I have gear if you want to just put in a gear).
