Up for sale is a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 2WD. I am only the second owner of the vehicle. I was told the first owner drove it back and forth from Ohio to Florida to visit his elderly parents - so nearly all of the miles are highway miles. I have owned this car for one year. I really hate to part with it, but I just need something with less miles to keep for longer. I am using this as a daily driver, so the mileage WILL increase.
THE GOOD
Interior is LIKE NEW! Look at the pics! This is one of the reasons I bought the car. I couldn"t believe there was virtually no wear on the seats and carpet. Exterior still shines and is in good condition. (See more below) Tires are in great condition and have many mile left on them. (Recently inspected by Discount Tire) Tires just rotated. Brake lines from master cylinder to ABS module replaced February 2020. Brake lines from ABS module to front brakes replaced February 2020. Hydraulic braking system fluid exchange February 2020. Completely inspected from top to bottom in May 2020. Found no issues other than those mentioned below that have developed. I have report with pictures I can share. Oil change July 2020 Oil system cleaner July 2020 New oil pressure sender July 2020 New oil pressure switch connector July 2020 A/C and heat work fine.
THE BAD
The biggest issue is that the transmission is flaring between 1st and 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd gear. It drives fine. It will eventually need a new transmission sooner than later. About 2 weeks ago it started having trouble starting. I have no idea what the issue is. It usually takes at least two tries, then starts right up. Sometimes I have to press gas pedal before starting. I have NEVER had it not start as of yet. The check engine light is on. It would always go on for a few days, then off. I would add some Seafoam to it, and within a day or two the light would go off for about a month or six weeks. The code was some catalytic converter code that never affected the driving. I have no idea why it"s staying on now. The driver"s window is slow going up and down. I think the motor will need replaced soon. The seal around the driver"s door is loose. I believe that is what is causing the driver"s side carpet to get wet when it rains heavily. You can see in the pictures the two rust areas around the passenger side rear wheel area. There is VERY minor rust on the top side of the driver"s side rear wheel. There is also light rust around all the door bottoms I noticed - nothing too surprising with the age/mileage.
I have driven this car from Ohio to Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. I would not hesitate to drive this car a long distance. It cruises great and comfortable on the highway.
