2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 2-door coupe. 40th Anniversary Edition. Supercharged 3.8 liter V6, 4-speed automatic transmission. Straight body, good paint, decent interior. Everything works.
Options: Cruise control. Power mirrors, door locks, windows, and driver"s seat. Heated driver"s seat. Digital fuel mileage display. Nice Bose factory stereo with 6 speakers. Heads-up display. Onstar. Traction control and ABS. Hood scoops and rear spoiler. Fog lights. Power sunroof. Power trunk release. Nice factory wheels. Driver and passenger front airbags. Power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.
Performance modifications: 2.5" diameter exhaust system. Fenderwell cold air intake with K&N filter. Shift kit. Performance-tuned computer. New front supercharger housing, bearing, coupler, pulley, belt, and supercharger oil. It has a 3.4" supercharger pulley, giving the car 10 psi of boost. 300 flywheel horsepower at 5500 rpm. Computer mods: Speed governor removed, rev limiter raised, richer fuel mixture, cooler running temperature, quicker downshifts. 180 degree thermostat and cooler temperature spark plugs prevent knocking during boost. Due to the tune, it will sometimes set a rich mixture code. I got tired of seeing the light go on and off, so I installed a check engine light cutout switch next to the computer box. There are no other trouble codes in the computer. Also due to the tune, the car will sometimes fluctuate the idle rpm slightly at a stop, ONLY when the engine is cold. This stops after giving the throttle a slight rev. The idle rpm is always normal after the engine is warmed up. The catalytic converter and rear oxygen sensor have been deleted, so the car will not currently pass an emissions test. I will include the catalytic converter and rear oxygen sensor with the sale of the car at no extra charge, if desired. Welding and fabrication to reinstall the converter in the performance exhaust system is the buyer"s responsibility.
The car has a clear (no lien) Montana title. It DOES have a rebuilt title, NOT a salvage title. One of the previous owners hit a deer in Minnesota and it went under the car. The hood and front bumper were replaced, and when I replaced the stock exhaust system I noted that it had various dings and scratches on it. The previous owner"s insurance company refused to cover the damage, therefore the car was issued a rebuilt title after it was repaired out-of-pocket. A car must pass a state safety inspection in order to be issued a rebuilt title. There is no evidence of any catastrophic collision or the vehicle being put on a frame straightener or having any suspension components replaced. The car runs straight and doesn"t pull.
