This Grand Am has been sitting since November of 2016. I am told the timing chain broke and it needs an engine. I have owned the car for three years and put over $6,000 into it. It has a rebuilt salvage title and I just continued to rebuild (well. . my mechanic anyway) so it has lots of parts which are 3 years old or less. I have all receipts since I bought in in 2013 plus the carfax. First , I will start with the problems. I already mentioned the engine. There is a dent on the front drivers side above the wheel, no rust on car. Small place near back of back door on passenger side has "chipped" potential rust spot. Hail damage but I live in Kansas so consider it part of the décor. The inside is dirty, multiple cigarette burn holes. Looks pretty good with seat covers though. Gas cap is missing, light on radio are not bright, back windows work but are slow and may need a hand. This was no big deal to me because hardly ever had any passengers. Now for the good stuff. In 2013 I started with a new driver side door switch assembly. From there it was a new fuel pump module, new drivers side window motor, new water pump, serpentine belt, new battery, recall repair, AC repair, new condenser and seals, new headlights, new tires in 2014 and another new one in late 2016 due to a little run in with a median, new front brake pads and hoses, new ignition, keys, reprogram of security system, new thermostat, new steering suspension, shocks, struts, basically a whole new front end. I also purchased a replacement trunk wheel cover and hubcaps from the junk yard so there are four matching Pontiac hubcaps in great condition. Six days prior to its demise I had a back up camera installed. Pretty nice one too. AM FM radio with CD and cassette player, all working. Cold AC, good heat, rear defrost. Well, if it had an engine anyway. AND the day it died I had just filled the gas tank. So, if you are a fixer upper car project kind of person this may be the car for you.
