I have owned this truck for 12 yrs & am the 2nd owner. This was a very dependable truck for me for many years & Started in the coldest of winters. It has not been a daily driven truck tho in the last 4 years. Just a few times in the winter months when it snowed, or when something needed hauled, or the handful of times in the summer to pull our camper to the lake. At the end of the Summer 2016 we decided to sell it, as we had acquired 2 more vehicles from relatives that passed away & didn"t need 5 vehicles. So I cleaned it out & was on the way to the car wash so that I could take pictures & advertise it, when the slave cylinder went out on the way there. We had it towed to a garage to be checked out & to give us an estimate on fixing it. It sat there for 4 MONTHS waiting on them to check it & give us a quote. which never happened. (Not happy) Meanwhile vandals decided to break out the window while it sat there (along with a few other cars at this garage). So I decided I no longer wanted that garage to do ANYTHING with it, & had the truck towed back to my house. (Btw. The window is fixed)
I have since been told by our neighborhood mechanic that the slave cylinder was the problem, as the fluid leaks right back out of it when poured in. Therefore this will have to be towed from the property, unless you know of a temporary fix to get it where you need it to go. It has 213,758 miles, but have not had any issues with the motor. It had regular oil changes & maintenance. & in 2015 it had a slight miss in it, so we had a tune-up done & We also replaced all 8 coil packs (but 3 or 4 of them came from an auto salvage yard) & the rest were bought new. It helped, but I still felt like it had an intermittent miss to it. So I"m not sure if any of the coil packs that were bought from the Auto salvage weren"t any good, or what. But we continued to drive it for the next year when we needed it, & the "miss" never got any worse.
It has good tires & the 4 wheel drive works good. The clutch, pressure plate & throw out bearing was replaced about 15,000 miles ago. It has AC, but the last 2 Summers that we used it prior to breaking down, we had to put freon in it, so apparently it has a leak. It will also need a battery now since it has been sitting for so long. It will start & run when we put the charger on it. So you WILL be able to listen to the motor.
Also we just learned today that 2 of the 4 cross members under the bed are broken. Not sure how that happened from just sitting for the last 18 months. But nonetheless they are broken. It is a 16 year old truck, so the body has some rust, some dings & dents here & there (See pictures) More photos upon request. * The slave cylinder costs $50.99 @ O"Reillys, But to my understanding, the majority of the expense is if you have to pay a garage to put it in. I"m not sure the cost of fixing the cross members. Therefore I am only asking $1,950
* I am selling this truck AS-IS. NO WARRANTY. So please ask any questions before you commit to buying & make a deposit, as it is a Non Refundable Deposit. I welcome anyone to bring a mechanic & check it all out as they see fit. I have nothing to hide & will answer any questions that you may have to the best of my ability.
