Vehicle description
If you are looking for a reliable sports car that is extremely fun to drive, look no further. This car has been one of my favorites and I really don"t want to sell it. I recently purchased a new project vehicle and have exceeded my wife"s "approved" number of vehicles, so it has to go!
I purchased this car 4 years ago with the intent of building a street car to race at local SCCA events on the weekends. The engine was professionally disassembled, inspected and rebuilt with a long list of performance parts. (See build list below and in attached photo) Total cost for the entire build came in around $8,000 to ensure it was done right. The cars suspension system has been completely gone through as well and handles like its on rales. While the car has never been on a dyno, the build list from Texas Speed is estimated to produce around 450 - 500 HP. Regardless of the numbers, it"s fast and very fun to drive.
The Good: There are a few things that could make this car a smart investment if you are able to hold on to it for a few years and here is why: - 35th anniversary model year - 2002 was the last year that Camaros were in production until being brought back in 2010 - Its a true SLP SS Camaro (See attached photo of the original SLP Build Sheet) - Less than 85,000 original miles!
Engine Build List: - Texas Speed VR3 Cam Kit (See attached pic of order form) - Ported and Polished LS Heads from a 5.3 ltr - Custom Tune & Larger Fuel Injector Kit from PCM"s For Less - SLP Cold Air Kit - BBK Long Tube Headers - Magnaflow Muffler - Polished Fuel Rail - Remote controlled exhaust cut out. - Closed, Open & Closed: https:/ youtu.be/fyX13epSIgQ - Open cut out idle: https:/ youtu.be/mPRTnLzo3cw
Suspension - QA1 Adjustable front coilovers - Urethane Bushing Kit - UMI Rear Sway Bar Kit - Belltech Rear Shocks - BMR Rear Springs - Toyo Proxes R888R all around (less than 1,000 miles) - Front: 275/40R17 - Rear: 305/35R18
The Opportunities: While the car looks great, it is far from perfect. There are a handful of paint and body opportunities throughout the exterior. I have a mechanical background, but I am not a paint and body guy, so that is the only thing left to make this car great!
Here are a list of items to be aware of: - There are a couple of small dents, scratches and chips in the paint. See photos below. I would be happy to send more or even facetime you for a quick walk around if you would like. Just send me an email: Jet1358@gmail.com - It looks like the car has been painted before because of some minor overspray on one of the door locks. - Engine light: Because of the size of the cam that was installed, it pulls is higher level of vacuum which is outside of the factories MAP Sensor parameters, so the light is on. It runs and idles great though! - ABS Light: The entire rear end has been upgraded from the weak factory 10 bolt, but it does not have a provision for an ABS sensor, so the light is on because there isn"t a rear ABS Sensor. - Air Bag Light: The previous owner installed an aftermarket steering wheel that does not have an air bag. Since its not hooked up, the light is on. I have the factory steering wheel and plan to install it within the next few days. Regardless, you will get both with the sale.
