Vehicle description
This should be a really nice find for the Ford truck enthusiast! It is a 2001 F-150 "Heavy Half", which is to say that its towing and hauling capacity is far higher than a normal F-150, more like an F-250.
It is a factory Bi fuel vehicle that runs on Compressed Natural Gas as well as unleaded pump gas. This is a nice feature since CNG is currently selling for $1.95/gallon and does not fluctuate along with the price of gasoline. There are not many 4x4 trucks running around using $1.95 a gallon fuel. Unfortunately, the vehicles compuvalve is not currently working. A while back, I received a Quote for $400. to fix it, but chose instead to just run it on unleaded.
Last year, this truck went through an entire restoration. The box was removed and painted. The hood and bumper were replaced with new ones. The entire truck was beautifully painted by a meticulous painter that has painted many show cars (including one for me). $6,000. invested just last year!
Tires are brand new, and the wheels have been powder coated for durability, and added rust resistance.
A brand new rear bumper was installed, after powder coating of the new part.
Front grille was repaced at the time of the restoration.
A new, modern stereo and speakers have been installed. Stereo has modern inputs for MP3 and USB.
Bed and CNG cover have been coated with durable spray on bed liner.
I have taken very good care of this truck over the last 9 year that I have owned it. Complete service and maintenance records have been kept. I use full synthetic oil.
Note: There is a small bubble forming under the paint, see picture of left cab corner.
