Vehicle description
This is one of my work trucks for the past 12 years. With a 6 year old Western 8ft Pro Snow plow, 2001 Ford Excursion XLT Unstoppable, V-10 Engine, new $3800.00 transmission, with a $6500 high performance Banks Power-pack bundle. I also added a $2500 locking differential system Eaton-Lockers. This truck can plow snow 36 inches deep without flinching. I would put 2000Lbs of Sand bags in the back and it was just amazing, plowed up the steepest hills that no one else would do.
I had the 6 inch lift installed about 5 years ago, it is the more advanced and expensive type, all new springs ect. Bilstein shocks ect. The tires I had on it few years ago were 39.5 by 14.5 we took them off and sold them two years ago for better snow tires. The truck now has 35inch by 13.5 inch tires, Toyo Open Country. The tread is good for at least several more years.
We did spend well over $15,000 on it in the past 3 years making a lot of stuff new, and including modifications, I spent $3800 having the transmission rebuilt two years ago and it shifts like brand new. We only drove it about 1500 miles in the past few years. I also spent about $3500 having the whole front end rebuilt about three years ago. And we had the drive shafts pulled off and rebuilt last year, all new universals throughout and everything balanced. This month spent $2000.00 had some brake work done, few new calipers, new brake lines, new pads and rotors.
I spent a ton of money probably $6500 or more putting in Banks Stainless steel dual exhaust system and stainless headers. Also the Banks intake.
I have decided not to snow plow anymore so I am selling this truck.
I will mention though, It is aging, it no longer looks as good as it did in two of the photos that were taken two years ago and used on this listing. But it still runs great, good and strong.
Heres the negatives: The truck does have rust developing in a lot of areas. Front bumper rusty. Under chassis could use a good coat of undercoat protective paint. There"s no third row seat. There are some rips on rear seat. Over all the truck is dirty from being a contractors work truck. The plow works perfectly, but there is a dent on it in the middle from once sliding into a tree. The hood has dents on it and doesn"t close perfectly. Front grill has a few small cracks. There are a few Primer spots where some body work was done on it.
There is a 6 ft by 4ft cargo area behind the rear bench seat, or fold it down and you have an 8 foot bed. There is a roof rack on it that we use for carrying ladders.
The truck does have a class 3 trailer hitch. Also has a trailer brake control unit installed.
Located in Glen cove NY 11542 feel free to call me with questions at but serious bidders only please.
Buyer will need to pull the vehicle wrap off, or at least partially so that my phone number and name isn"t out there.
I hope to see at least $4500 for the truck, the reserve is set at $3500 if it doesn"t do that amount, I will relist it again.
The side steps have been changed from plastic running boards to chrome nerf bar-pipe type about a year ago but the drivers side step need to be better secured, the bracket rusted.
Large 40 gallon fuel tank capacity.
