If I had the garage space, I would keep it for another 10 years. This car has spent the majority of it"s life in California and has never seen snow. There are upgrade 18 inch wheels which would need some love to make look like new. Synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles and routine maintenance has led this car to be fun, reliable, and spacious for years. It has a true connected driving experience with the Quattro system and biturbo engine- always love the drive of this car even compared to newer European sports cars.
Ideally I am looking for an enthusiast who would love it and maintain it. If I were to keep it, I would put a new coat of paint on as the clear coat is starting to show. There is no rust at all, but to make it perfect that is what I would do. The 2.7 liter V6 and the turbos are all in great shape. The car is really tight and solid- drives like new. The interior is in very good/exceptional condition overall with the leather seats and interior trimming kept clean and conditioned. Car has had all-weather mats through it"s whole life. The tires are brand new and have fewer than 500 miles on them. The Avant has it"s own enthusiast following and I would buy the new S4 Avant if sold in the US (Got an SQ5 instead, pictured). Also has an optional roof rack included if you would like.
These are great cars and a joy to drive. If you keep regular service then and maintain it, then it should be a great car for years to come.
