Vehicle description
2000 S500 in fair condition, sold as-is with no returns (mainly due to the fact that I"d have no idea how to do one on here, lol). I"ll list every issue I can possibly think of so that you have a great idea what you"re buying and really how good of a deal it is. Also, the weird look of the black paint on the exterior is due to the fact that I"d just washed it and it was still wet.
Exterior: 1. Windshield wipers need replacing. 2. There is a small crack in the windshield. 3. On back bumper there a multiple scrapes in the paint but not tragic. 4. The locking mechanism for the trunk is engaged and has to be reset by an auto body guy. Right now trunk cannot be opened. 5. The sunroof needs either a new fuse or something because it was opening and closing then stopped. But since I didn"t drive it, I didn"t look into it.
Interior: 1. Drivers-side handle to pull door closed is loose. 2. The passengers-side handle to pull door closed has come off - HOWEVER the auto body guy I use says that the way both have come undone allows them to be re-connected for $150 total. 3. A vent on the drivers-side has a broken piece - cheap fix. 4. Cup holder part of armrest has broken but can be replaced or reattached, as I"m told. 5. The control of the mirrors on the drivers-side door - not sure if it was replaced with a different year"s switch or what but it doesn"t fit perfectly inside. Doesn"t effect function, just that upon really close inspection you can see that it doesn"t look the same as it should. Just a little off.
Function: 1. Car squeaks now for some reason. But now that I"m starting to notice it, I"m starting to notice that other cars of the same age and model are squeaking as well. The airlift / airshocks work perfectly and lift the car as they should, so not sure why it squeaks. 2. I have a list of codes, HOWEVER I am not sure all of them are necessary fixes. The reason I say this is because I"ve had things fixed by mechanics who are not located in an MB dealership. Because they aren"t, they can"t reset the codes. Here is the list, along with some explanation:
a) Washer Fluid - Check Level * *I"ve had it filled and it still shows. b) License Plate Light - Check Lamp c) BAS Brake Assist - Visit Workshop d) Tail Light Left - Check Light * *This definitely needs a light replacement. e) Engine Oil Level - Visit Workshop * *My mechanic noticed this light and topped it off but it still stayed on. Car doesn"t leak, oil changed regularly but still persists because it can only be reset by dealer. f) ESP Electronic Stability Program - Visit Workshop
KBB on this car in Fair condition is $2143. I"m asking $2000. I"ve owned the car 2 years or so and have had no problems until recently: those problems have been the squeaks. I don"t drive it very often except working on films though.
