This vehicle was purchased on December 17, 1979 by my sister. The car has only 88,500 miles on it, which means she used it about 14 miles a day . . which is just about her mileage from home to school, where she taught. On weekends, she would use the car to go to the market. I know, I know! This sounds like the old story of the old lady who used the car very sparingly . . in this case it is true.
My sister always had the car serviced at Lexus. I have all of her statements from the dealer as well as all receipts from wherever else she may have had the car serviced. I have the original purchase agreement, the window sticker and even her cancelled check to the dealer from who she bought the car new, Lexus of Concord.
The car is in truly magnificent condition. It was taken care of with annual trips to the detailer, as well as bi-weekly trips to her favorite car wash.
This car is spoiled! My sister is now 85 and will no longer drive. The car has been sitting in her garage for a few months. She still goes out to warm it up and drive out of and into the garage!
My sister is in great shape and we have convinced her to sell the car and use the money to do a bit of traveling. She has agreed!
The car has been fabulous! It has basically new tires, battery, struts, brakes and even transmission fluid, etc. It has never been in any sort of accident. It bears a few small dings from careless people in parking lots. Otherwise the car rides and drives like a new car.
