Vehicle description
We bought a Panamera for the family and are now short on parking. Given that I almost never get a chance to drive her in NYC, I"m selling my 996. The interior is perfect and the car is very clean. No stains, scratches, or rips in the leather. 64500 miles on the odometer. The paint is good, and the driver"s side fender has been resprayed.
The interior is unique. It"s the OEM blue interior, but I"ve put in white faced gauges, a GT3 center console delete kit, and replaced the old amber LEDs with bright white ones. The white LEDs really modernize the interior. porscheleds.com used to sell the kit, but they are no longer around. I also painted the shift console unit silver to match the exterior. The stock stereo was replaced with a high end Kenwood unit and a JL audio 5-channel amp is now under the bonnet. There"s wiring for a sub on the rear deck and a removable 10" subwoofer.
Three months after I bought the car it suffered an IMS failure at Watkins Glen, so the engine was replaced with a new crate motor from Porsche. The odometer was ~35K at the time, so the new motor has about 30K on it now. The engine code is M96/01AT66X67235 if you would like to do some research.
The car sounds like a monster because of the Fister D mod, I get compliments at every autocross I attend. The only thing the car needs is a new set of tires. There"s plenty of tread on the Dunlop Z1 Star Specs, but the rubber is old.
She"s got the Xenon headlights and smoked turn signals to keep the profile clean. The suspension mods make the car quite low and aggressive and are perfect for DE/Autocross, but they don"t exactly make for quiet or smooth ride. The kids and I love it. Not so much for the wife. There are no rubber bushings on the drop links, so they make noise going over bumps.
It also comes with a mounted Halon fire extinguisher (required for PCA DE), a car cover, and a set of Hawk Blue pads for DE events with plenty of wear left.
