Vehicle description
Lexus ES300 with Coach edition upgrades, had one previous owner before me. Has been kept meticulously by us both.
Car is made of steel, not plastic, and built to last. Leather interior, genuine wood trim, moon roof, power stearing, locks, remote entry fob, power windows, anti-lock brakes, cruise control, 6-cd changer in glove box, cassette player, (adapter for smartphone/music/voice call capabilities), phone charging outlet, fog lights, Premium Lexus Sound System, spare tire in trunk, new wiper blades, programmable garage door opener.
Using full synthetic high mileage engine oil.
This car is in excellent condition for its age and rides smoothly. It was originally from the South, I bought and used it in the South, and recently had it shipped north, where I have used it minimally, and it has been kept garaged. The undercarriage shows very little rust as a result (see last photo).
When I purchased it from the dealer in the south, they told me that when the car was traded in, they ran it through the ringer and it needed no maintenance, and that they had never come across that ever before. In the 9 years I have owned it, I have had only one mechanical problem- a hose that was worn and needed replacing.
This has been an amazing car for me, and I"d like to pass it along to someone who will appreciate it"s charm and reliability. (It is made of steel literally!) The car now needs routine maintenance.
Problems : - There are several engine gasket leaks, resulting in slow, and continuous loss of engine oil. I checked with several mechanics who said repairing was optional and also moderately easy to do. To avoid the repair, I check the oil once per week, and replenish as necessary. - Needs one new tire in a thousand miles or less - catalytic converter not functioning optimally, check engine light is permanently on (this happened several months after I bought the car, but the state I lived in didn"t require emissions sticker so I did not fix it.) For MA, cars of this age do not require the catalytic converter be replaced. - The brake light is permanently on even though the parking brake is not engaged (brought to multiple mechanics, they said it was not a problem) - Right front window was replaced and on occasion, when shutting the door, part of the window will stick up over the rubber gasket, or the door will not fully close. Opening and closing the window remedies the problem, as does reshutting the door. Window doesn"t leak even when not fully shut.
