1999 Jaguar XK8-Convertible Probably one of the nicest examples you will ever see of this marque. This is a 1999 Jaguar XK8 in Obsidian Black with black leather interior. I bought this car approximately 3 years ago with 37k miles on the odometer. In the last 3 years I have driven the car approximately 10,000 miles. This is my weekend toy and it has always performed flawlessly. I have only performed regular service and replaced 2 engine coils over this time and oil changes. Next oil change is due in 4000 miles. The car is run on synthetic oil. Recent additions are 4 new Michelin MX tires all around approximately 1000 miles ago. Secondary timing chain maintenance was performed at the dealer by Bergen Jaguar in 2005. Last week I replaced the horns as they are under the front bumper and get constant water flown at them. New front brake pads were installed a new antenna mast. Car wash snapped it off, my fault as I didn’t turn the radio off as I ran it through. All systems work as expected. Flawless black leather interior. 6-CD magazine in the trunk and trunk is spotless with the enclosed covered boot cover in a nylon bag that has never been used. Built in alarm system and key fob door unlock and alarm set. In dash cassette though who plays those anymore though you can with a converter hook to an iphone. Electric black canvas top lowers as expected. Roof is as new with perfect headliner. Gorgeous piano finish wood burl dash with no fading anywhere or scratches. The car has always been garaged. Freezing cold A/C. So amazed by the cooling of this A/C in Florida. I can only keep it on the lowest setting or the car is too cold. This vehicle was from the wonderful time when Ford took over ownership of Jaguar and the quality shows. I realize condition is subjective. I have bought cars over the years and realize what one person considers to be “excellent” or “mint” is not what I feel but parked on the street this looks like a new vehicle. There are two spots that looked like someone opened a door to the car but they are not chips or dents but you can see it when you look straight down the side. They are so slight and in my photos they don’t show but I want to mention them. People are amazed when I tell them the car is now almost 18 years old. I live in a condo building and have valet for parking and being reduced to one car so my baby must be sold. Posting a lot of photos but happy to take many more.
