DID YOU DO THE RESEARCH! I don"t think anyone buys a car online dependent on the seller"s blurb or an array of staged photos. Ask yourself who would post bad photos of themselves or their merchandise? The independent rating of 65 says it all when you check the rest, always assuming they qualify for one.
Ok so a listing on here is free unless it sells so understandably enterprising dealers will post a myriad photos and syrupy descriptions to lure the unsuspecting buyer. . What you get with any XK8 convertible is a great daily driver if you are lucky, and you don’t need to sink over $12000 into an ageing fun car. Truth is, for those that don’t know, they are all Ford under the hood despite what the valve covers say, so even after 20 years you are still owning a hybrid. After doing their best to ruin the manqué Ford sold to Tata Motor Company who had the good sense to revert back to Jaguar power trains, but still the image of the leaping cat is tarnished.
Nevertheless the curvaceous body line and the sumptuous cockpit is unmistakably and iconic Jaguar. Just sitting behind the wheel and hearing the purr of the engine as the the hood rises is a million dollar experience. The car comes from Royal Palm Beach and as one would expect, has been meticulously maintained. N ot to be confused with run of the mill sports cars it is offered with any trial or inspection strictly BEFORE bidding. and yes the top is smooth and responsive and in excellent mechanical condition with body and interior to match.
