This is my 1999 Honda Accord. I drove it for 3 years and it was the most reliable vehicle I have probably ever had. The mileage might scare you, but it really shouldn"t because this thing runs GREAT. I have done some repairs here and there on it (listed below) and there"s really not much that goes wrong with these vehicles. On top of that, the vehicle gets 30+ MPG which is awesome. As you can probably notice by the images, the vehicle is currently sitting on a doughnut. Long story short, there was an unfortunate puncture in the sidewall and I had to throw it on there one day. I brought the wheel and tire to work, and once it came time to fix it a week later, someone had thrown it away by accident. At the time I was daily driving my truck, so I just parked the Honda and let it get to operating temperature every week or so to make sure none of the fluids would gum up. I am going to the junkyard soon after I post this and I promise I will not sell this vehicle without a proper wheel on it! This vehicle wouldn"t take much work to be something really nice.
FEATURES:
- Cruise Control
- Sunroof
- A/C
- Power Door Locks (Needs Attention)
- VTEC! !
- 30MPG
- Automatic Transmission
Here"s a list of all the things I"ve done in the past year or so:
- New Spark Plugs
- New Catalytic Converter
- Power Steering Fluid Change
- Coolant Flush
- Brake Sensor Replace
- Regular Oil Changes
- MAF Sensor Cleaning
- Air Filter
- Added a Trailer Hitch
- Shampoo"d Entire Interior (Including Seats)
Here are some things that the vehicle could use:
- Tires
- Valve Cover Gasket (6 Dollars on eBay. The leak is very minimal and pictured. I would just top off the oil every month because it was a very slow leak)
- Dent Repair (If you really care about that)
- Front Suspension Overhaul (Sounds scary, but fairly straight forward. Found a complete set for about 85 on Amazon. Won"t need it for about another 10k miles in my opinion)
- Door Lock Actuators (Basically when you hit the unlock button on the key fob, not all the doors come up. All lock and unlock manually though so not a huge deal)
- Climate Control Unit (SUPER common problem on these Honda"s from 98-02. You can actually fix the problem by soldering on the main circuit board. Just don"t have the time to mess with it honestly)
This vehicle has served me very well and it will serve the next owner just as well. It is cheap, simple, and reliable. I"ve also got a pair of ramps that I can throw in with the vehicle if need a way to jack up the vehicle for repairs.
