Vehicle description
My uncle passed away and left me his truck. Because I already own 2 other 7.3 diesels I need to sell this one. This is a 1999 model with the better forged pistons. It"s 2wd (better MPG and higher towing capacity) Truck is stock save for gauges and the addition of a bed hitch.
I"m going to be perfectly honest with you. If you"re looking for a perfect truck that needs absolutely nothing, this isn"t for you. I went through it and fixed a few items before driving it home. It made it the 600 miles with zero issues. But, I want to be honest and tell you everything I know that the truck needs.
So the bad:
Tires. They are off another truck I had and have plenty of tread. However they are older and are D rated tires. They will get you home, and last even longer if you aren"t planning on hauling anything heavy. But if you"re going to tow (which you are, because why else would you need an F350) you"ll want to get some E rated or higher tires on it.
Alignment. It needs an alignment.
Front end bushings. Some of the bushings are dry rotted or just old. It drives great, there really isn"t any play in the steering, but occasionally over bumps you can tell some of the bushings aren"t bushing well.
Batteries. I was going to put some cheap walmart batteries in it. But figured the new owner would probably prefer to buy better ones. The current batteries work, but they are 4 years old. I keep the terminals disconnected unless I"m driving it.
Truck lived in the northeast, so there is some rust underneath. Didn"t see any snow/salt due to being 2wd. So it"s not as bad as most, but it"s still there.
Seat. The front seat is torn up.
The good.
Long bed.
Brand new alternator
Brake controller with a 7 pin round, and 4 pin flat connector
Bed mounted hitch.
New brake line (the rear hard line that always goes bad on these.)
Only 203k miles.
Clean title in my name.
This is a great truck with a ton of life left. Nice ones are fetching $10k+. I would drive this truck anywhere in the country. It"s that reliable. In fact, if an out of state buyer wants it, and pays for my fuel and return trip, I"ll deliver it anywhere in the country. It would be much cheaper than shipping it. (if you live far I would need a few weeks to plan and schedule)
